There are 3,000 Confederate dead from every southern state buried in this cemetery.

Many of these are unknown and relatively few have information on their markers.

Seal of the CSA

This cannon, which served Georgia Military Institute from 1852 to 1864 and was used by the Confederate Army,

captured by Sherman's forces and held as a trophy of war until 1910 now rests in this cemetery.

Markers throughout the grounds list the state and number buried. This one is for South Carolina with 113 heroes.

Markers throughout the grounds list the state and number buried. This one is for Louisiana with 78 heroes.

The Confederate Battle Flag. The flag is flow in most Confederate cemeteries.
